Description: | The Haffner's first concert of the 25/26 season is set to be a magical one and one that transports us to another world; one of hope and calm. The first half of the concert will entertain and soothe you with a mix of beautiful music, from lullabies to poems and with themes of 'mute stillness of happiness' and even a speaking flower. The second half is all about Mahler and his Fourth Symphony. It combines moments of joy, beauty, and mystery, and the ending (with its heavenly vision) leaves you with a sense of peace. Whether you are an expert in all things classical or don’t know much about the music, you can still feel the emotional journey this symphony takes you on. In essence, it’s a story told entirely through music that goes from peaceful reflection to playful joy, then to intense drama, and finally to an almost dreamlike vision of heaven.
